- a multi-talented musician, divides his time between composing and performing. Boatwight’s mentors include Max Camp and Arpad Darazs, both with whom he worked closely for years. While obtaining his BM, MM, and DMA degrees at USC, Boatwright received the Bog Hi Kim and Arpad Darazs Awards. His list of performances is quite extensive. Some of his favorites include the Bela Bartok Festival in Hungary and the Fringe Festival in Scotland. Boatwright’s musical directorship has exceeded a hundred shows. His compositions include the opera, Goldilocks, which debuted in 2002, the musical, Far Above Rubies, which debuted in 2005, and the upcoming musical, Sistine De Michelangelo, scheduled to debut in 2007. The recording of a set of Boatwright’s solo piano arrangements, Classic Hymns in Bravura, will be released in the near future. Boatwight’s staff positions include Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church and the Summit Club.
