Anne S. Richardson - began her dance training at Calvert-Brodie School of Dance in Columbia, South Carolina, and went on to study dance in New York City at the Joffrey School and American Ballet Theatre School. Miss Richardson received her BA in Dance Performance from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a principal dancer for Columbia City Ballet and South Carolina Ballet Theatre, the American Dance Ensemble and an apprentice with the Pittsburgh Ballet Company. Miss Richardson returned to Columbia to teach in the Gifted and Talented Program in Richland School District 1, where she taught for twenty-two years. As the Artistic Director for Dansework-Jazz for ten years, Miss Richardson took the company all over the Southeast to perform including at the Jazz on Tap in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. In 1997, Miss Richardson received her Interdisciplinary Masters of Arts in Teaching Theatre from the University of South Carolina and in 2001, she received her Masters Degree in Educational Administration, also from the University of South Carolina. Miss Richardson is a master teacher for Dance Masters, Encore productions, and at the SCAHPERD convention in addition to guest teaching in the Columbia area. She has also choreographed for numerous performing arts organizations including SC Educational Television, the Columbia City Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Workshop Theater, Trustus Theatre, the USC Dance Company, Eboni Dance Theatre, Upstage Children’s Theatre, the Sumter Civic Ballet Company, and the American Dance Ensemble. Miss Richardson is pleased to be a part of the Palmetto Center for the Arts faculty as she returns for her sixth year. In 2003, Miss Richardson received her National Board Certification as an Adolescent Generalist. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
