David Stephenson - Vocal Music - has directed choirs and taught general music courses at
Pelion High School since 2004. From 2002 to 2004, Stephenson taught choral
music at Middlesex High School in Saluda, Virginia and was the artistic
director of the local 100+ voice community choir, The Cheseapeake Chorale.
Additionally, David has served as a part-time music director at churches
throughout the Southeast.
Mr. Stephenson is a graduate of The University of Georgia and Eastern
Kentucky University with degrees in music education and choral conducting,
respectively. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in music education at The
University of South Carolina. A lyric baritone, Stephenson won 1st place in
the Advanced Men's Division of the 2000 Alabama National Association of
Teachers of Singing competition. He has performed in several major operas
including Carmen, The Magic Flute, and Amahl and the Night Visitors.
